Obituary for Alvin Sterlyn ""Sterlyn"" Lee

ALVIN LEE OBITUARY
Alvin Sterlyn Lee passed away peacefully at home surrounded by his family on Tuesday, March 14, 2023. Alvin, known by family and friends as "Sterlyn", was an only child born to the late Freddie and Evelyn Lee on August 13, 1939 in New Orleans, LA. He attended McDonough 35 High School and thereafter, served eleven years of active duty as a Sergeant in the United States Army. Sterlyn was also a Merchant Seaman; he worked on the railroad and was a long shoreman for many years. Hard work was his motto. His talents were many, which made him a successful businessman. In addition to his parents, Mr. Lee was also preceded in death by two daughters, Monique and Ashley Brown. He leaves to cherish precious memories his children, Donna (Randolph) Shannon, Stacey L'Air Lee-Easiley, Alvin Sterlyn Lee, Jr., Jean Paul (Ciandra) Lefort, Raussan Sterlyn Brown and Dominick Sterlyn Lee, devoted friends, Marilyn Gibson, Gina Lefort, a host of grandchildren, other relatives and friends. All are invited to attend the funeral. A Celebration service honoring the life and legacy of the late Mr. Alvin Sterlyn Lee will be held in the Chapel of Charbonnet Labat Glapion Funeral Home, 1615 St. Philip Street, New Orleans, LA 70116 on Saturday, March 25, 2023 at 10 am. Interment Mount Olivet Cemetery and Mausoleum, 400 Norman Mayer Avenue, New Orleans, LA 70122. Visitation 9 am in the chapel. Due to COVID variants, face masks and social distancing encouraged.
