ERNEST BRISCOE OBITUARY
Ernest A. Briscoe Sr., age 84, passed away on Monday, March 27, 2023. He was born on February 3, 1939 in New Orleans, LA to the late Ernest and Senora Briscoe. Mr. Briscoe attended St. Augustine and Joseph S. Clark High Schools. After graduation he enlisted in the United States Coast Guard. After his military service, Ernest returned to New Orleans, where he began his career as a contractor. He was known for his attention to detail and his willingness to help others. Mr. Briscoe was joined in Holy Matrimony to Brenda Green Briscoe for 53 years and together they were blessed with four children, Ernest, Jr. (Tiffany), Danita Cummings (Quincy), Senora Paul (Derrick) and Wilbert Briscoe Sr. (Ronicka). Ernest was a loving husband, proud father, grandfather, great grandfather, uncle and friend. He cherished his relationships with his nieces and nephews. A memorial Mass of Christian burial honoring the life and legacy of the late Mr. Ernest A. Briscoe, Sr., will be held at St. Mary of the Angels Catholic Church, 3501 N. Miro Street, New Orleans, LA 70117 on Saturday, April 15, 2023 at 11 am. A private burial will be held at a later date. Visitation 9 am in the church.
