ZELDA FINNEY OBITUARY
Zelda "Z" Finney entered eternal rest on Monday, March 27, 2023. Zelda was born to the late Joseph and Rose Mary Finney on November 20, 1958 in New Orleans, LA. She was a graduate of Walter L. Cohen High School and a business owner until retiring. After retirement, she enjoyed babysitting, spending time with her family and going to the casino. In addition to her parents, Zelda is also preceded in death by a son, Bobby Finney; sister, Lita Finney Reese; nephew, George Finney; aunt, Elnora Washington and sister in law, Novella Kerry. Ms. Finney leaves to cherish precious memories, her lifetime partner, Bobby Thompson; loving daughter, Yashica Finney (Wallace, Sr.); grandchildren, Bailey Finney, Wallace, Jr. and Londyn Henderson; brothers, Joseph and Tyrone Finney, Saul Williams; nieces and nephews, Jonell, Jovel (Derrick), Jovan Finney (Katrice), Joseph Kerry, Saul Cooper and Nakia Reese (Christi); Godchildren, Tanesha Santemore and Roshondra Celious; close friend, Patricia Garner. Also survived by a host of cousins, other family members and friends. Relatives and friends are invited to attend the funeral. A Celebration service honoring the life and legacy of the late Ms. Zelda "Z' Finney will be held at Guiding Light Missionary Baptist Church, 2012 Washington Avenue, New Orleans, LA 70113 on Saturday, April 15, 2023 at 10 am. Interment Providence Memorial Park and Mausoleum, 8200 Airline Hwy., Metairie, LA. Visitation 9 am in the church. Due to Covid variants, face masks and social distancing encouraged.
