Obituary for Kenneth Louis ""Biggy"" Johnston

KENNETH JOHNSTON OBITUARY
Kenneth Louis "Biggy" Johnston, age 74, went to his heavenly home on Monday May 8, 2023 surrounded by his loving family. Biggy was born on March 2, 1949 in New Orleans to the late Elmer and Mabel Johnston. In addition to his parents, Biggy is also preceded in death by his brother, Elmer Johnston, Jr and beloved son, Isaiah Kenneth Johnston. Survivors include children, Dr. Shoanmarie Pope (Andre), Kenneth Louis Johnston, Jr., Tremelle Jawan Johnston, Winndale and Rami Johnston; stepchildren, Melanie Inez Armstrong and Raymond Danny Armstrong; grandchildren, Melani Isaiah Roussell "Shrimpy"; sisters, Pamela Batiste (Rodney), Sandra Griffin (Thaddius), as well as a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends. Kenneth was a 1967 graduate of J. S. Clark High School. He entered the United States Army in 1969 and served in the Vietnam War. Biggy was a cofounder and active member of the V.O.T.E. organization. Relatives and friends; members of V.O.T.E. and Alumni of J. S. Clark High School are invited to attend the funeral. A Celebration service honoring the life and legacy of the late Mr. Kenneth Louis "Biggy" Johnston will be held in the Chapel of Charbonnet Labat Glapion Funeral Home, 1615 St. Philip Street, New Orleans, LA 70116 on Tuesday, May 16, 2023 at 1 pm.
