BERNELL WILLIAMS SR. OBITUARY
Mr. Bernell Williams, Sr., age 81, entered eternal rest on Monday, May 22, 2023 at his home in Meraux, LA. Son of the late Dorothy J. Howard and Saul Williams, Sr. Mr. Williams attended and was a graduate of Violet Consolidated High School, where he met and later married the love of his life, Carrie Mae Washington Williams. To this union, four children were born, Melanie W. (Rev. Willie) Sylvester, Bernell, Jr. (Donyette), Troy (Deidera) and (Tanya) the late Oliver Williams, Sr. Loving grandfather of eighteen. Beloved brother of Ervin Blaise, Ronald Carrihill, Freddie Williams, Thomas, Wilfred, Farrell and Alton Johnson and Lionel Smith. Also survived by a host of other loving relatives and friends. Relatives and friends; Pastor, Officers and members of Bethlehem Baptist and all other neighboring churches of St. Bernard, Plaquemine and Orleans Parishes, are invited to attend the funeral. A Celebration service honoring the life and legacy of the late Mr. Bernell Williams, Sr. will be held at Bethlehem Baptist Church, 111 Bethlehem Lane, Braithwaite, LA 70040 on Saturday, June 3, 2023 at 12 noon, Pastor Michael W. Jiles, Sr., Officiating. Interment: Bethlehem Baptist Church Cemetery. Visitation 11 am in the church. Due to COVID variants, face masks and social distancing strongly encouraged.
