Gloria Oliver Obituary
Gloria Jean Trotter Oliver entered eternal rest at the age of 81 on Tuesday, March 12, 2024. She was born in Vossburg, MS on September 7, 1942, the youngest of five siblings born to the late Davis and Lola B. Cruise-Trotter. Mrs. Oliver was joined in Holy matrimony to Joseph Oliver in 1966 and to this union two children were born, Carol Oliver Hilaire (Randy, Sr.) and Karsten Oliver. Gloria was a good and faithful servant of the Lord. She enjoyed singing in the choir at St. Peter Claver Catholic Church, where she served as president and treasurer. She was a faithful employee of the Orleans Parish School Board for 26 years as a Child Nutrition Technician at Andrew J. Bell Jr. High School in New Orleans. Gloria also loved writing poetry, dancing, painting folk art, sewing and designing, visiting family and friends, traveling and meeting new people. She enjoyed Mardi Gras and hosted parties every year. She was also an active member of Harmony House Senior Citizen Center. Relatives and friends are invited to attend her funeral. A Mass of Christian Burial honoring the life and legacy of the late Mrs. Gloria Jean Trotter Oliver will be held at St. Peter Claver Catholic Church, 1923 St. Philip Street, New Orleans, LA 70116 on Saturday, March 23, 2024 at 10 am. Interment St. Louis Cemetery No. 3, 3421 Esplanade Avenue, New Orleans, LA 70119. Visitation 9 am in the church. Please sign online guestbook at www.charbonnetfuneralhome.com.
