Claudette Bagnerise Obituary
Claudette Montrel Bagnerise, departed this life peacefully on Saturday, March 23, 2024, at the age of 78. She was a native resident of New Orleans, Louisiana. Claudette was a graduate of George Washington Carver Senior High School class of 1964. She was the owner of Kimbo's Montessori Preschool, one of the first African American Montessori preschools in New Orleans. She was born to the late Sidney Montrel and Marguerite Montrel. Beloved wife of the late Jerome Bagnerise; daughters, La Wanda Washington (Stephen), Ieachera Johnson (John), Tonja Flot and son, the late Kendell Bagnerise. Sisters, Bernadette Huntington, Aloma Cornin, Sheila Martin, Elora Montrel and her brother, Wendell Montrel (Rosemarie). Claudette was preceded her in death by sister her sibleys, the late Sidney Montrel Jr., Judy Ann Victor, and Jerome Montrel. Grandmother of Kendell Bagnerise Jr, Mizel Washington, Monte Washington, Milan Washington, Iyante Marshall, John Johnson Jr., and Taylor Flot. Claudette also leaves to cherish her memory a host of aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, relatives, and friends. A graveside service was held on Thursday, March 28, 2024 at 12:00 pm at Lake Lawn Metairie Cemetery, 5100 Pontchartrain Blvd., New Orleans, LA 70124.
